PRISON MINISTRY

We maintain there full - time Chaplains who minister to
new inmates who are processed into the prison systems
in Tennessee.




Richard Smith


Richard Smith, has been our full time Chaplin at the Brushy Mountain Prison for the last 22 years. Richard now minsters daily at Morgan County Prison since all inmates from Brushy were transferred there in June 2009. He was our first resident counselor. He has been associated with Miracle Lake since 1980. Richard also has a monthly ministry at the McMinn County Justice Center. Richard also ministers once a month at Northeastern Prison. Before coming to our ministry, Richard was superintendent of the shop at the McMinn Adult Activity Center in Athens, Tennessee. Richard is associate pastor at the campus church at Miracle Lake, The Church of the Good Shepherd, and shares pastoral duties with Rev. Bryan.






Ronnie Shelton


Ronnie Shelton is our chaplain at the Riverbend Maximum Security Facility and the Charles Bass Correctional Complex in Nashville. Ronnie is now in his 12th year as chaplain there. Before coming to our ministry, Ronnie was employed with Cutler-Hammer in Cleveland.






Ronnie Osborne

Ronnie Osborne, serves as our Chaplin at West Tennessee State Penitentiary, he  began his full-time ministry at W.T.S.P. on Monday April,5. He has been ministering at W.T.S.P. for the last eight years. He also has ministered at the Federal Prisons at Mason and Millington, Tennessee. He is certified to preach at the Mark Luttrell Women’s Prison in Memphis. On occasions he has preached at the Lauderdale County Jail. Before coming to our ministry, Ronnie was already a part time Volunteer Chaplin at W.T.S.P.







Jack Bryan


Brother Jack travels to thirteen different prisons throughout the state each month. He holds a service and ministers to an average of two hundred and fifty inmates.

Ronnie Shelton is at Riverbend mornings and CBCX each afternoon every week.
Richard Smith is at Morgan County afternoons and evenings every week.  Richard visits
Northeastern Prison on the second Wednesday of each month.  Richard will conduct a
church service at 2:30 P.M. on that day, medium security chapel.
